Battlefield 2 Mod and Tournament Announced.

New York, United States / Trondheim, Norway - June 27, 2005. TRT Productions announced today the formation of an on-line multiplayer tournament based on Battlefield 2 from EA Games.

Time Rift Tournament and mod are set in the year 2000, in an alternate reality where the Soviet Union and communism are alive and well and World War III rages throughout the globe. The battle between the ideologies of capitalism and communism comes to a head as the two opposing philosophies clash on the battlefield.

The Tournament will be using TRT modification on top of the BF2 game engine. The TRT Mod will stress realism over standard BF2 game play. Enhancing the reality of the battlefield will be such changes as real-life weapon's performance and maps conforming to true life geographical locations as well as other changes.

The mod will feature all of the existing BF2 armies along with an all-new Soviet Union and West German army. As TRT takes place during WWIII, several custom maps in the European Theater of Operations will be build.

Participants in the Tournament are experienced, mature players who use teamwork and tactics as means to victory. Registration for armed forces of both sides is now open.
