Tactical Gamer Launches Tactical Mod for Battlefield 2! - Mods Posted by: Woolf on 04-19-2006 @ 06:33 |

This News Item has been viewed 6494 times! Tactical Gamer, the leading/premier community for mature gamers, is proud to announce the release of its very own Tactical Mod to the entire BF2 community.
Battlefield 2 takes the next logical step in team-based gaming with the implementation of squads and the commander role. Together, these two concepts make it easier to execute an overall strategy, implement squad-based tactics, and coordinate all of this through squad-based communication. However, some elements of the game design limit the strategy & tactics that can be used.
This is where the Tactical Mod steps in to provide some adjustments to the overall gameplay experience. These adjustments provide emphasis on team-based execution of strategy & tactics. This coordination and careful play should prevail over the typical run-n-gun behavior. Throwing more bodies at the objective is no longer the most effective way to complete them. The Tactical Mod also attempts to balance the power between infantry vs. land vehicles vs. aircraft. No longer will air dominance tip the balance to one team. Infantry, land vehicles and aircraft must now work together to accomplish their objectives.
Tactical Gamer currently hosts the Tactical Mod on Thursday and Sunday nights starting around 8pm EST on our primary 64 player server. Please join us to experience these epic battles on Thursday & Sunday nights. Tactical Gamer also hosts the Tactical Mod on our secondary 48 player server most other nights. If you don't get your fix on Thursday or Sunday evenings, head on over to our secondary server. Every Tactical Gamer Battlefield 2 server name will begin with "TacticalGamer.com".

yes its sp also!
less arty, more blood, more street infantry feel...yes comes close indeed to how bf2 should have been
works with all maps
I really am intrested in downloading this.
however
how many servers support this mod?
does this mod have a good community?
is the community active?
the only thing I don't like is the artillary being removed I think Artillary should not be allowed on urban/city maps. I think it SHOULD be alllowed on big open maps like zetar wetlands or that one chinese map.
Tactical Gamer has 2 battlefield 2 servers going right now that are open to the publc. Sunday nights and Thursday nights are our main Tac Mod nights, always a great time. Also it runs on our 2nd BF2 server m/t/w/f/sat. Tacticalgamer.com is a HUGE gameing community filled with mature gamers that are wanting a better gameing environment. The MOD community at TG is great, alot of support and help. If you have any questions about the mod i suggets going over to TG and checking it out

Matheis,
I'll try to answer your questions.
Well at this time just the tacticalgamer.com server supports this mod. I would encourage you to head over to tacticalgamer.com and browse the tacmod forums here http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlefield-2-tactical-mod/
As of this post, I believe two other communities have installed the mod on their servers but I do not know if they run the mod full time. One is even talking about using it for a league they plan to run. Tactical Gamer is also working on putting together a league utilizing this mod.
In regards to assets, specifically artillery.... we would like to be able to provide the CO assets in the mod, but at this time haven't been able to mod them to sufficiently balance them out. Having arty every two minutes is a bit too much. We want the assets to be valuable and critical assets, but not able to be used so frequently.
As for the Tactical Gamer community, I for one find it to be the best community around. It's a great bunch of folks who's interest is in playing games using teamwork, strategy, tactics, etc. It's this community that makes playing any game great. You can take a great mod and a bad community and not have any fun. You can take a poor mod with a great community and have a good time. You can take a great mod and a great community and build a dynasty. We've got the great community and we're working towards that great mod.

No servers for BF2 and 2 empty servers for SF. Lets get some servers up and fill the ones that are up. I ran around for a while and it seams to be fun.
Have not downloaded it yet but the "gravel hooks, tow line, SF stuff" on reguler maps intrest me alot and the custom maps intrest me too. I think they need to add more vehicles like the birdy copter then it would be perfect. and they need to give MEC side RPG's
