Hello and welcome back another news update of Forgotten Hope 2. This week, we would like to start by welcoming a new member, mapper Lili Marlene. Lili has a long carreer as a fan mapper, and in the past released maps like "Battle For Ortona", "Kiew", and "Invasion of Sicily." His attention to detail and inventiveness make him a valuable addition to the team. Lets give Lili Marlene a warm welcome!

The first new model for today's update is the 6x30 Dienstglas, the standard issue German service binoculars (6 power, with a 30 degree field of view). These were issued to officers and some noncoms, as well as artillery spotters and others tasked with the job of observing at a distance, that did not require more specialized equipment. These were adopted in the mid 1930s, and was manufactured by several different optical firms, according to a common design. The 6x30 Dienstglas was modeled by ctz and skinned by ctz and McGibs.

Artillery spotters tend to be hard on their surroundings, and in recognition of this Malsa has created shattered and wrecked versions of his fine North African-style buildings. Keep an eye out for snipers, as these tangled ruins provide many excellent hiding spots.

Awesome update. Those binocs look great, nice touch having the DAK colours as well. These new wrecked statics looked amazing, they'll add lots of atmosphere, especially with the lighting.

Looks nice, I would just hope to see a *real* North African city based battle, not like some small village, huge desert, another small village etc.

And what I mean (forgot to add on the earlier post, heh), is that the entire map is based on one single, huge city. It would give good *balance* between the tank battles of Africa and the use of infrantry.

You'll see a variety of maps. Some with small outposts and lots of desert ideal for armored combat, other maps with lots of buildings ideal for infantry combat and some will have a combination of both.

Also keep in mind that the map that is being used to show of vehicles, statics etc is a testmap, it's not a map that will appear in the public release.

True, but wouldn´t it make bit more diffrence to have fight in North African city instead of common Carentans and St. Lous etc?

ye, it would and it would add a mix of close and open combat, I do like the close combat with like mabe only infantry, on fh42 i like the battles with russia cuz it was more about infantry, so a good balance is sweet

umm, #10 you confuse me confused the first release is all North Africa, so of course we won't be seeing any European junk, all the maps will be in North Africa, some will be city maps, other will be wide desert maps ideal for tank combat, etc.

Well I haven´t been watching BF community for 24 hours per day 7 days per week, so I apologize that I did not know any plans, ideas, or any other things that FH team has planned, or has confirmed.

So I apologize that I have not been 24h in my comp for 7 days per week and watching BF community.
