Project Reality has made some changes to their beta, and they are looking for some feedback, so if you use Project Reality, and are looking forward to the next release, you need only read below
Quote:The Project Reality Team has been conducting, during this month of November, a public beta test on a select number of community servers to test gameplay changes to the spawning mechanics of the mod. You can read more about it in the previous news posts.
Although the month is almost over, we still want to test some new changes, so we appreciate any feedback you can continue to give on those as well.
The grouped changes since 0.874 are:
1. Lowered maximum spawn penalty from 60 seconds to 45 seconds.
2. Raised the maximum number of Forward Outposts available from 4 to 6.
3. Forward Outposts can be built 200m apart (decrease from 300m).
4. Forward Outposts can be built with one supply crate instead of two.
5. Deployable assets (HMGs, AAs, Foxholes, etc) require two supply crates do build.
6. Deployable assets can be placed up to 200m from the Forward Outpost (increase from 150m).
7. Limited infantry kits require a squad of 3 to be requested or spawned with (Automatic Rifleman, Medic, Grenadier, Rifleman AT and Marksman).
8. Rally Points expire after 60 seconds from being placed.
9. Rally Points cannot be placed with a single enemy close (100m radius).
10. Rally Points are limited to only one placement before needing to be "rearmed".
11. Rally Points are "rearmed" by the Squad Leader when spawning (except on the RP) or getting close to a Forward Outpost, Command Post or Supply Depot.
You may have noticed that although there are changes to older tweaks (maximum of 6 Forward Outposts, 60s RPs to avoid spammy "are you ready?" talk, 100m check for enemy presence when placing RPs), the biggest addition here is the limited Rally Point. Read the rest...

I may have to get a new machine to run it sadly

I was so excited when i found out about BC:2 i pre ordered it as soon as possible this game is going to keep more occupied for a long time.
#7 - Posted by: Qonos (Member) on 11-19-2009 at 18:23
wish I knew the requirements though
#8 - Posted by: brok (Member) on 11-22-2009 at 20:24
I might consider it if the PC version had the original BC in there hidden away, only to get unlocked by the most innocuous move and come out of nowhere in it's full glory.
Battlefield: Heroes is working on a new map, and it looks like it's gonna be pretty cool, so for those of you that have BF: Heroes, feel free to check out the screenshots below. Peace

Keep in mind it is not finished yet - this is why we want your feedback!
The latest patch for BF2142, 1.51, has had some delay, but it is still going to be released so fear not. Also, a deluxe edition of BF2142 will be released soon via Steam and Direct2Drive
Quote:Hey guys
Trying to get the programmer back on BF2142 still, he is being tied up on BFBC2 PC version.
As for the changelist you know this is a small update in terms of fixes and is aimed at adding more security fixes onto accounts to stop spoofing.
Other things you will see are:
* No DRM method on the exe as with BF2 (No more SafeDisc, PACE or SecuROM (depending on which version of BF2142 you have) and no more errors from EADM saying you need to log in to EADM to verify ownership even if you are logged in)
* Operation Blue Pearl
* Two brand new maps from community modder Jason Brice (more on this later)
* Northern Strike will be available to EVERYONE
Also yes, BF2142 Deluxe Edition is heading to Steam and Direct2Drive (and all other online retailers you see selling BF2 Complete Collection) once BF2142 1.51 is done.
I like being infantry. Using machines is too...disconnected. You bomb someone and can't see it. You fire a cannon and some random guy goes flying. Plus, mahines make you targets. I prefer to make it a game of skill intead of "who has the bigger gun/bomb".
Then again, I do like the sea battle feature of 1942....

I'm all about the air, man. Flying fast, out maneuvering the enemy, and delivering paylod on target at a moments notice. Air superiority, baby.
#5 - Posted by: fireblade101 (Member) on 11-07-2009 at 09:01
im good at helicopter flying.i can fight while flying threw small places and around obsticles!
#6 - Posted by: Airaviper (Member) on 11-07-2009 at 16:48
Flying in jets because when your in tanks you get a bazoka shot at you, when you are infantry you get sniped, and in helicopters your bound to have a sam heading your way. In a jet your least vulnerable.
#7 - Posted by: Qonos (Member) on 11-08-2009 at 00:19
Personally, I do infantry or I get in some Armour, most likely a tank. It's a satisfying feeling when you outmaneuver an enemy tank and get them in a weak spot.
#8 - Posted by: cruisepoper (Member) on 11-09-2009 at 13:04
By Taste?
1- Infantry (Hey I like being on foot mostly)
2- Quick Vehicles (From DPVs to Humvees)
3- Armor
4- Helos
5- Jets
6- Sea (I like sea in naval battle or in Long Range Sea to Land, But in BF2 Its Obvious)
#9 - Posted by: Fragboy_o_jedi (Member) on 11-09-2009 at 16:39
By the exact same reasons jet lovers posted
is why i hate jets
theyre too easy mode, too unkillable
#10 - Posted by: MatmanDude (Member) on 11-11-2009 at 10:19
GET TO THE CHOPPA! That's me. Whether it's pilot or gunner. I love 'em both. I'm good at both.
#11 - Posted by: Chobram (Member) on 11-13-2009 at 12:20
Jets are obnoxious with how hard they are to kill, and they can reload without landing. So, of course I use them the most.
Bad Company 2 will support DX 11 - Game News Posted by: computernerd on 11-16-2009 @ 12:43 - Source: LegitReviews.com

Battlefield 2 News
Great news: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has been officially announced a DirectX 11 game, which means if you've got a monster graphics card (like mine ) and Windows 7, then you'll be able to enjoy BC2 at it's full potential
Quote:AMD just sent over a list of DirectX 11 game titles and when their expected release dates are going to be. It looks like DirectX 11 is finally starting to pick up some speed, which is great news for ATI Radeon HD 5000 video card series owners as you have a card supporting DX11. A new name has appeared on the DX11 game list and that would be Battlefield: Bad Company 2! This is a big title game, so that should help boost sales for AMD. DiRT 2 is coming out on December 1st, so it looks like DirectX 11 is about to get a shot in the arm with these major game titles. NVIDIA's GT300 'Fermi' graphics solution for DirectX 11 is missing in action and is rumored to not be coming out in volume until April 2010. If that is the case AMD has a six month head start on DX11!
A word from ATi:
Quote:DirectX 11 is a key feature of Windows 7 and is important for two key reasons: it helps consumers experience better performing games and faster computing. To do this, DirectX 11 brings several new features which collectively improve the graphic fidelity of games and 3D applications while also enhancing the ability of the CPU and GPU to work together more efficiently. This in turn will allow end-users to potentially realize significant increases in performance as application developers harness the power of tessellation, multi-threading and compute shader technology, three key new features of DirectX 11.
The guys over at BFG recently released a new update! In it are some new content, a youtube video, and a shout out for help.
Quote:The Tiger I was first produced in 1942 as a response to German encounters with T-34’s and KV-1’s on the Eastern Front. Ultimately, this resulted in a specification for a 45-ton tank with an 88mm gun, heavy armor, speed and maneuverability. The Porsche firm began working on this new tank design but encountered serious complications. The Henschel firm then began working on its own model under the direction of Dr. Erwin Aders, drawing from its previous work on heavy tank designs. The two firms were to have prototypes ready for inspection by Hitler at Rastenburg on his birthday, April 20th, 1942. The Porsche and Henschel tanks were put through trials and, in spite of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche’s friendship with Hitler, the Henschel tank won, in large part due to its superior maneuverability.

Battlefield 2 News
Frank Gibeau, President of EA, made this comment about Battlefield: Bad Company 2 recently:
Quote:During yesterday’s fiscal Q2 results conference call, Frank Gibeau, President of the EA Games label, made it clear once more that Modern Warfare 2 is in Bad Company 2’s sights. As Gibeau was lining up upcoming titles based on EA’s original intellectual properties — Army of Two: The 40th Day, Dante’s Inferno, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 — he said, “In March, DICE will release Battlefield Bad Company 2 with all new destructible environments, expanded vehicle combat, and deep new online play with dedicated server support,” not missing an opportunity to once more bring up the lack of dedicated servers in MW2.
“We believe this will put Battlefield in head to head competition with Call of Duty for quality and online game play,” he said.
Gibeau also reminded those listening in on the call of another game in the Battlefield series, Battlefield 1943, and how it has become the best selling Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network game ever after being released back in July.
We are always looking for feedback from members and staff about the service we provide here on the Network. Sometimes this feedback is given in some very strange places instead of direct to us and as a result is either missed completely or mistaken for bitching at something else. To combat that we are opening the floor upto everyone to say what they think about the Network both good and bad.
This is a Network wide post so if you do wish to discuss a specific site then say which site you are referring to.
This will remain open for 1 week and at the end of that week a select few will be invited into our Vent server to discuss it further. This will give direct access to the NA's along with our managers who will be there to answer questions. This may then be recorded and made available to download.
As with any debate on this scale there are rules. These rules must be observed or your post will be deleted and in extreme cases you may be banned for the duration of the debate.
The rules
1) Observe all standard Network rules.
2) Be concise in your posts. Simply saying something sucks or I agree is not going to have your opinion noticed.
3) Post as much info as you can to put your point across and if possible include a example.
4) Be polite to other members even if you do not agree with them.
5) Be patient when waiting for a reply if you ask a question. We don't have all the answers but we will do our best to find them for you.
Straight from the EA UK forums: A new patch for BF: 2142 is in the making, and we will let you guys know when it has been released
Quote:That is part of the patch yes. [No DVD fix] I can't give you a date on when it will be done but programmers are still working on it here. Localisation has been completed and we have been in closed beta for a couple of weeks and fixing some issues that came up in those tests.
Localisation is due to us making the game in English and then the localisation process is where every other language gets translated and approved for use.So it goes out to each territory to get the game transalted to French, German, Spanish etc etc. Takes ages to do
Project Reality has announced the release of a beta that they're testing on some of their servers.
Quote:During the month of November, the Project Reality Team will be hosting a public beta test on a select number of community servers to test gameplay changes to the spawning mechanics of the mod. These changes will be made server side, so joining these servers will be the same as any other (all you need is PR v0.874).
There will be a few alterations made, however, they will all revolve around one primary change: the removal of Rally Point spawning. We are well aware that the mere thought of this change may scare a lot of you, but we must insist that everyone understands nothing here is written in stone. We want to find out the exact effect this will have on gameplay, and a public test is the best approach.
There are multiple reasons as to why we would like to experience PR without Rally Points:
RPs enable squads with little or no cohesion to continue to have a presence in battle, even when their presence near their RP is hampering the rest of the teams objectives. This means that you often see squads doing their own thing, instead of working as a team, towards the same objectives. Read the rest...
First Strike has posted some info as well as some screenshots of some new models.
Quote:As promised we are aiming to become more regular with our updates, and this week it gives us great pleasure to reveal several more key assets that will help flesh out and make the upcoming map Jundland Wastes feel more like that beat up lived in Star Wars Universe than any First Strike map that has come before it.
First off we have a few shots of a craft rarely realised in Star Wars games, the SoroSuub V-35 Courier landspeeder. A common utilitarian vehicle found across the galaxy. In our upcoming release you won't be able to drive it, but it will be parked in a familiar location. Who knows? In future releases we may well make this a pilotable vehicle. Read the rest...
BierPizzaChips released a Single-Player Map-Pack for Operation Peacekeeper 0.32 (OPK).
This Map-Pack is based on those five maps already posted for OPK 0.25 and includes a new one. Many enhancements had been implemented.
OPK offers since 0.3 the British Forces. These become available for intensive Single-Player fights in BierPizzaChips’s Map-Pack. Really nice are the matches between those new British Forces and the German Army.
21 new vehicles had been made available for these maps, 19 OPK vehicles had been tweaked to enable full support for Single-Player.
Those originally for OPK 0.25 posted maps had been tuned and enhanced with larger and better combat zones for Single-Player e.g. the large bridge in ‘Mineral Sribije’ can now be used by bots.
The installation of the map-pack does neither affect the original OPK maps nor any online match ability.
Hey guys, we (the Battlefield Files Admin) will be accepting ONE new staff member. The new position will be a File / News Poster. The way you will go about applying for this position is very simple. Forgotten Hope 2 has posted some renders, as well as some info about their upcoming patch.
Quote:Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. It's been a while since our last news, but we're back on track after our short post-release vacation. Today, we have three renders of brand new vehicles for our next patch, but before we carry on to those, we have some announcements...
First off, we just want to say we are all very glad with the enthusiastic reception of patch 2.2. There has been a definite increase in player count and the comments on the forum have been almost exclusively positive. To make sure all our new players keep playing, we are currently working on a small patch, which mainly focuses on adding more maps to our Normandy Theater of War. Of course, as you will see in this update, we will also add more vehicles and weapons to this patch. Secondly, we have added yet another new developer to our ranks. Please welcome Darren01, who modeled and skinned today's Bedford QL.
Our first render of today is of the British Crusader Mk III AA tank, which will be the allied counterpart to the German Wirbelwind on Operation Totalize in the next patch. The original Crusader tank was made by Omni and Toddel converted it into the anti-aircraft variant. Read the rest...

There a lot of pop-ups and other weird such-such going around here now. Pretty much completely harmless though. Just don't click on any random links and look at what's in your post's box before hitting enter.
I'd have to say either FH2 or GC. I can't decide though. Of course I like DC... eh one of those three.
#10 - Posted by: devils88 (Member) on 10-23-2009 at 11:04
FH and FHSW, BG42 and EOD
#11 - Posted by: slick08 (Member) on 10-23-2009 at 13:14

GC was the greatest mod of all time
#16 - Posted by: Finlandman (Member) on 10-25-2009 at 05:47
Voted DC, a bit more fun then FH for me. But FHSW evens it! Also I find DCFX to be a treat...
#17 - Posted by: Fragboy_o_jedi (Member) on 10-25-2009 at 08:56
lol, poll glitched, i voted for GC....
GC was the greatest cause it took BF into a new twist, with space combat (then Battlefront spawned)
DC was great, Pirates was nice, even the non cited EoD was excellent (which spawned BF:V)

Hello, this is Phatty2x4. Co-leader of the Interstate Nitro mod team for Battlefield 2. We've been pretty busy the past few months getting a lot of things done and I'm proud to say we're looking to patch Interstate Nitro in the near future. I can't be specific on a date, but I'm hoping for an official patch before 2010. I know that's pretty vague, but our team is very small. If you'd like to help out, just head on over to isnitro.com and fill out an app!
Onto the update: The biggest improvement to the mod and the focus of this news update is the addition of the new vehicles made by JazzDevil. They include detailed interiors(unlike our previous cars) and just better detail all around.
None of this would have been possible without JazzDevil and I'd just like to give a big THANK YOU to Jazzdevil.
This is going to be news update #1 out of #3 before our patch. Each news update will showcase 3 different vehicles that will be in the upcoming patch.
*Please note. Not all cars shown here are 100% finished and are subject to change.*
First is the new Picard Piranha:
Courcheval Cavera:
Jefferson Sovereign:
We'll be back soon with another update. We have alot more cars to show and you even get a little teaser in some of these pics of whats to come. Stay tuned!
