Battlefield 2 News
It seems BF: 3 isn't as bug-free as we might have hoped (and what is really?) However, all is not lost as DICE will be focusing their attention on these issues and, hopefully, resolving them as quickly as possible.
Quote:The Battlefield 3 beta is coming to a close soon unfortunately, ending October 10th. A ton of Battlefield 3 beta bugs and issues have been posted by the community and DICE is quickly working to fix the big ones and make sure BF3 is ready for it's release later this month (25th). DICE compiled a top-ten list of Battlefield 3 bugs that will be addressed by release:
1. Battlefield 3 Squad issues: Cannot play with friends within same squad, squads get split up onto opposite teams, etc.
Squad management systems will be introduced to help players control what squad they're in along with other features: creating squads prior to launching Battlefield 3, squad member retainment (staying in the same squad when continuing into other matches, locking squads, inviting squad members, kicking squad members, and muting the annoying ones.
2. Regarding additional Open Beta content and fixes/patches for consoles, including PlayStation 3 issues with chat and party systems.
DICE is focusing their efforts towards the final release of the game, we can all agree that this is a better idea. "While we would like to patch the Open Beta, DICE is currently focusing its available resources on polishing the retail game."
3. Will DICE have enough time to iron out everything by release?
A lot of issues will be fixed, for a detailed explanation look here.
4. Can we have ability to change settings/options before deployment into match on PC?
The ability to modify your settings via the deploy screen has been added into the retail game.
5. Issues with terrain stability and "falling into the map" on Operation Metro
This has been fixed for the beta via a server side update.
6. Kill cam sometimes zooms out too far or outside the map
This has been fixed for the launch of the retail game.
7. A bug that sometimes keeps some players from being able to sprint
This has been fixed for the launch of the retail game.
8. Screen flickering/stuttering. Blue screen remains after respawn. Game locks up after deploying C4 (360)
This has been fixed for the launch of the retail game.
9. Downed bodies appear to be dead, but are not
The DICE team has been looking into this issue - which is caused by a combination of incidents in a confined area - and are working hard to address the issue for the launch of the retail game. It could be this glitch or that the Battlefield 3 player is simply mistaken.
10. Why is the hit detection seemingly different from Battlefield: Bad Company 2?
The netcode is one of the many things that we are testing as part of the Battlefield 3 Open Beta and is not necessarily reflective of the final retail game. The DICE team appreciates and has heard the feedback you've provided and is further optimizing online play for BF3.
Remember, when reporting a Battlefield 3 bug to DICE please be as descriptive as possible.

Battlefield 2 + Forgotten Hope 2.3 Mod + WaW Map Pack (link at the top of this post)
Hello gents and welcome to another addition by the Forgotten Hope 2 team. Today we have a look at some of the new graphical tweaks that have been worked on and polished by some of the top modders. Screenshots are below, so please don't hesitate to check them out!
Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope! It has been a few weeks since we've had an update, but today we are back, ready to begin showing off some of the more major changes that you will see coming in 2.4, along with a small teaser trailer, and a new shovel!
Up first, we are proud to show off the first screenshots of a major graphical update to FH2. FH2.4 will feature new shaders developed by Remdul. These overall changes will bring the look of Forgotten Hope 2 on-par with most modern games.
The post-processing effect consists of several elements. The first and most notable is 'color correction'. Color correction changes the overall look of the image by subtly altering the colors and contrast. Each level now has it's own look, accentuating the colors of environment, adding to the immersion.
The second most noticeable improvement is the blur. In previous versions of FH2, the iron-sight depth-of-field effect showed slight double-vision. This has been greatly reduced through dithering, and now looks much more natural. Usage of the blur effect has also been expanded, it is now enabled not only for iron-sights, but also for binoculars, gun sights and deployable weapons alike.
Two other minor aspects of the post processing shaders is the slight darkening of the corners of the screen, and a faint film grain.

Battlefield 1942 News
After possibly record-breaking three years of development we brought the last works on the new version of Battlefield 1918 to an end. Lots of new stuff (some never shown before) shall compensate for your endurance during the long wait.
The contents of our major release 3.1 are 65 new handweapons, vehicles as well as planes and ships. In addition to that we have 35 new maps and five maps which were completely redone as well as singleplayer support for 30 maps. Last but not least Belgium and Canada as new nations.
Besides that we listened to our community and brought old maps which weren't included in version 3.0 back. At this point we want to thank everyone who participated in the making and betatesting of major release 3.1 (the whole dev-team as also our external supporters like Battlegroup 42, Eve of Destruction, Dnamro of battlefieldsingleplayer.com or CamelNele). Without your patient and dedicated assistance this version wouldn't be possible. With a very small team with a partial changing lineup we worked one by one on this probably last version of Battlefield 1918 which we want to show you today. Depending on the feedback we reserve the making of a mappack with new content and in addition the third Forgotten Honor campaign for BF1918 is being prepared at the moment.

Battlefield 1942 News
Hi and welcome back to a other new update news of Battlefield 1918 V3.1. A news that have never be have to took place because the release of Battlefield 1918 was planned on April 21, 2011. Unfortunately with texture problems in maps and on the new ships, we were forced to cancel the release. However, we have a new video that presented new weapons. And i quote: the rifle grenade, Ordnance BL 9.2 inch howitzer, body armour, Gruson 5.3cm L/24 Fahrpanzer, Hansa Brandenburg W.29, Schneider CA1, trench made Le Prieur rocket launcher, Minerva armored car, Junovicz armored car, Mendelejev tank, Škoda 15 cm schwere Feldhaubitze M14, Škoda 7.5 cm Gebirgskanone M15, Canone 75/27 Mod.1906 and the Villar Perosa Mod.1915 submachinegun. Enjoy of the new teaser.
With this news update, we will present you four new maps included one Battlefield 1942 map that we have converted into a First World War battlefield. This map called Battleaxe1918 is based on the Battlefield 1942 map Battleaxe. The map is made by Amoghektor and Cicero. Its the same map but with much more bunkers, trenches, planes and tanks. Also the same nations will fight againtst each other. Britian vs Germany.
The follow maps are maps made by the Belgian player and mapper Fritz Kempf who have force to quit as major mapper because his military service in his lovely Belgian army. However, he will stil try to publish movies, news etc... With the entrance of the Belgian army in version 3.1 – with the ingame voices of Fritz Kempf – we will have a few maps where the Belgians will fight againts the Germany army. One of them is already presented, namely Battle of Haelen, and we will now show you two other Belgian vs Germany maps. The Liberation of Roeselare took place in the West-Flanders town of Roeselare, 24 km or 15 miles at the north of Ypres, on October 14, 1918 during the Advance in Flanders or the Battle of the Peaks of Flanders. After the fall of Liege & Antwerp in 1914, the Belgians retreated behind the Yser in October 1914 & opened the locks at Nieuwpoort during the night of 28 to 29 October 1914, so that the battlefield between the Yser & the railway was put under water. The Belgians were in defense behind the railroad until late summer 1918 so they never did with major offensives between 1914 & 1918, which the Belgian army was still strong. During the late summer of 1918, the Entente focused on the liberation of Belgium. Army Group of Flanders (G.A.F.), under the command of King Albert I, attacking in the north from the Ypres Salient to Brussels while the British Commonwealth armies and the Americans attacked in the center and south of the Ypres Salient to Courtrai. On October 14 they attacking & liberated Roeselare. The map show a little piece of the city. With the streets, canal, station and factory sector based on the true city of Roeselare. Its the first map in Battlefield 1918 that combines fighting on the fields, in streets, between factories, between trains and in a harbour. The sounds in this map make it realistic.
The other map is Ramskapelle that you can find in the modification as the Battle of the Yser. Like we already said in the presentation of Roeselare, the Belgians retreated behind the Yser in October 1914 & opened the locks at Nieuwpoort during the night of 28 to 29 October 1914, so that the battlefield between the Yser & the railway was put under water. After the Belgians put the battlefield between the Yser River & the railroad under water defence the Belgian & French army behind this flooded battlefield & railway. Despite the Germans had it not easy to break through the defense, they have capture the Belgian town of Ramskapelle (near Nieuwpoort) on October 30, 1914, that located just behind the flooded battlefield & the railroad while the water then rose. Three Belgian infantry regiments along with two French units, were ordered to attack & capture Ramskapelle. But a German machinegun near the windmill did stop the attack. The next day, the Belgians & French tried again to conquer the village, with success. The map show two villages. Ramskapelle where the fights will took place and Mannekensvere with the German HQ. Between those villages flows the river Yser that broke from its banks because the opening of the ports at Nieuwpoort. The Belgian HQ took place in a farm at the South-East of Ramskapelle. The Belgians have to attack on feet and with a Minerva armored Car via wheatfields, plowed field and a horse field with little cover, while the Germans stands in the houses of Ramskapelle and near the windmill with a machingun and fieldguns. The Belgian scouts in the balloon, that also will be add in the newest version, will give targets for the Belgian artillery. With this, the Belgians can win this battle and push the Germans out the village. After they have push the Germans out the village, the Belgians will defence along the railroad and in the trainstation. However, the Germans have also a balloon, a battery with tree sFH13 howitzer and one Big Bertha. Who will win this battle? The Germans or the Belgians? The map combines fighting on the fields and in the streets with realistic places like a cemetery, a village, wheatfields and trainwagons.
The next map took place in 1917 during the Third Battle of Ypres or the Battle of Passchendaele. The map called Broodseinde and its a battle between the Anzacs and the Germans. On 25 & 26 September 1917, during the Third Battle of Ypres, the British reached Kansas Cross, while the Australians reached Polygon Wood & Zonnebeke. Now the 1st and 2nd ANZAC Corp will be up against the new German units, the Eingreifdivisionen, to capture Broodseinde & Tyne Cottage on October 4. After weeks of rain, the battlefields are like swamps and the trenches are filled with water. The objectives are on or behind the Flandern I Stellung, a major German line in the Ypres Salient heavy armed with bunkers and deadly weapons. The new German units proved unsuccessful and the ANZACS have reached their objectives with heavy casualties. The map shows this battlefield. The Anzacs have a HQ in the destroyed town of Zonnebeke, between Passchendaele and Ypres, along a railroad and in the Dochy Farm. The stream Hanebeek flows through the battlefields. The Germans got a weak defence line along this stream in the farms Springfield and the Seine. While the Germans have two strong lines named Flandern I Stellung (with quarters in the farm Tyne Cottage, Thames Farm and the hamlet of Broodseinde on the hill just behind the line) and the Artillerie-Schutz-Stellung (that have a battery with five sFH13 howitzers, a flammenbunker, light fieldguns, machineguns and a dugout. The battlefields hows the (detroyed) trenches filled with water, the battlefields with his crates and destroyed houses and trees. Also the destroyed church of Zonnebeke. The ANZACS have to attack the Germans positions on the strong Flandern I Stellung and Broodseinde with tanks and on feet. While they have support of heavy Flying Pig Mortars, a mobile Pomp Pom AA-gun, a battery with Ordnance BL 6 inch 26cwt howitzers and the new heavy Ordnance BL 9.2 inch howitzer. The Germans have to defence the Flandern I Stellung and Broodseinde with heavy howitzers, light fieldguns and machineguns outside and inside bunkers, with mortars and flamethrowers with support of deadly Stormtroopers who wear body armor.
About the Third Battle of Ypres or Battle of Passchendaele, a film was made called Passchendaele. This movie shows the fights between the Canadians and Germans for the village of Passchendaele. On the end of the movie, the movie shows the destroyed battlefields of Passchendaele in the air. This is a good sight how it was 94 years ago. The map Broodseinde is based on the true battlefields of Passchendaele in 1917.

Battlefield 2 News
Hello to all the soldiers on the battlefields!
After some years we finally made it back, with new strength and a new team we continued working on the mod. And this time, we wont stop until we are able to release our work to you! Until then we will show you our progress and today, we will introduce to you some of the equipment which will be present in our first release...
Also we created a new page on facebook for you. We will inform you on every new update there as well!
To start with, we got the Sud Aviation SO-4050 Vautour II, a french bomber which is armed with four mighty 30mm Defa cannons and enough space to carry up to ten 450kg bombs. You better don't wear an Egyptian uniform when you see this baby on the sky!
As the Egyptians need something against this bomber, we will show you the SA-2 Guideline, which was the primary air defense for the Egyptian army in the sixties and seventies. As it was very common in the Sinai desert and across the Suez canal it caused many problems for the Israeli pilots.
Last but not least we will finish this update with the MIM-23 Hawk, the Israeli anti-aircraft solution. It has up to three missiles on one station, which is a huge advantage to the Egyptian SA-2. On the other hand the MIM-23 is not that powerful in damage and range than the SA-2.
You should also visit or media section, where you will find exclusive pictures of the presented items, taken from the Air-Force Museum in Hatzerim: SO-4050, SA-2, MIM-23.
