After finally getting most of the site issues fixed and dealt with, I can now present to you my thoughts on Battlefield 2 after playing it at EARS. Here we go...


I sat down to play Battlefield 2 for my first time in front of a top of the line NVIDIA machine that was an absolute dream to play with. Ben Smith came around to each of our machines to unlock the game and we were set free with the game. The first thing I noticed was how much the menus had changed. They still have the simplicity of BF1942 but offered so much more to do. Enough of that though! Like I was going to spend any more time with the new menus when I wanted to play the game so much. We loaded up on our first map and what came next pretty much blew me away. I can honestly say that I've never been this impressed with a game EVER!

I knew right then that I would be playing this game non-stop from the moment it is publicly released. The level of immersive gameplay is something I never would have expected from an FPS. It reproduces everything that was great about BF1942 and then expands on it and adds so many more great things that it's simply amazing. The developers at DICE and EA have scored big time with Battlefield 2!

Okay, now that I'm done telling you about how I've fallen in love with Battlefield 2 let me describe the rest of my experience with it. The 16 player server setup is more than enough to get a great game going. There was alot of intense gameplay mixed in with alot more laughter from the community guys in the room. Everyone seemed to be having fun with the game. Everything from the tank combat to the air battles to the defibrulator kills made for a very satisfying experience. I really came away from the event feeling very sure of this game and it's future place on my hard drive.

I really have to thank EA, Mike Murphy, and Ben Smith for this opportunity. They really made the hard work that goes into a fan site worth it. As far as hosts go, EA definately made us feel welcome and at home in their studios. Also, I need to give a big thank-you to AndrewD (who unfortunately wasn't able to attend). I got to meet quite a few of the people I've only talked to online before (Droid looks like he can spell...but..) as well as meet several new people from the Battlefield community.
