Battlegroup Frontlines - Mod Update - Mods

Battlegroup frontlines has updated their website take a look at what they had to say:

Quote:
Hello and welcome to another Battlegroup - Frontlines news update. Today we have two German weapons to show off. It is the Mauser K98 Rifle and the Walther P38. One of our main features are the 3D ironsights that can be seen on both the P38 and K98 and will be present on all of our weapons.

Walther P38:

Caliber: 9mm
Length: 8.38 in. (213mm)
Weight: 2lb 1.2oz (960gm)
Barrel: Six grooves, right hand twist
Feed System: Eight round detachable box magazine
System of Operation: Recoil, wedge lock, double action firing lock
Muzzle Velocity: 350 MPS

This pistol was designed from the beginning as a military weapon, suitable for mass production to replace the P08. The first designs used an internal hammer. This was refused by the Army as soldiers viewed the hammer as a visible sign of the readiness of the pistol. It was promptly changed and was adopted into the Wehrmacht in 1938. It was a robust weapon and performed particularly well on the Russian front, where the extreme cold put many other weapons out of action.
Mauser K98:

Caliber: 7.92mm
Length: 43.6in. (1.11m)
Weight: 8lb 9oz (3.9kg)
Barrel: Four grooves, right hand twist
Feed System: Five round internal magazine, clip loaded
System of Operation: Mauser turn bolt
Muzzle Velocity: 755 MPS

The Kar 98k was the last of the Mauser rifles used by the German Army. Before WW1, Germany as well as some other countries, produced a shortened version of their infantry rifle. For Germany this was the Gewehr 98. The main change was to reduce the length by six inches, simplify the rear sight, turn down the bolt handle, and cut away some of the wood stock to grasp the bolt more easily. The result was the Kar 98 which became the standard rifle in WW1 and completely replaced the Gew 98. In the early 1930s, the design was simplified to facilitate mass production. The new Kar 98k was adopted by the Wehrmacht in 1935 and was produced by the millions until 1945 since there were never sufficient numbers of automatic weapons to replace bolt action rifles completely.

Service history:

In service: 1935–1945 (later in other countries service)
Used by: Germany, Belgium, Yugoslavia, North Vietnam, Iran, Israel
Wars: World War II, First Indochina War, Vietnam War, Six Day War, Yom Kippur War, Iran-Iraq War, Yugoslav wars, current regional conflicts.
