Readme File:
GCX 5.3a supports GC 5.3, and requires BF 1.6 or higher patch

Galactic Conquest Extended (GCX) is a mini-mod that adds bot support to Galactic Conquest (Star Wars mod for BF1942) and extends the GCmod by doing total conversions of existing maps. This installation does not contain any new maps. Maps are available as seperate downloads

Andy - Many vehicles redone for bots and BF42 map conversions

To install:
GCX is a full install. If you had an old version, delete it from:
c:\program files\Ea Games\Battlefield 1942\mods\GCX
(This version only contains map extensions for the GC maps that now have AI support. If you want to play a GCX map, save those map files.)

Then run the GCX install file.

- If you want GC music/movies, run the GC_MM.bat file in the mods\GCX folder to copy the files over from the GCmod.

GCX 5.3b changes:
- Fixes for Bespin and Beggars Canyon
- Added spATPT (single seat version) with AI to Dantoine
- Added Ai supported amphibious to Kyros
- Added AI supported sattelite to Deathstar, and Z95 headhunter and Xwing
- Bots now fire weapons from ATAT on Hoth. Also added a bot using Probedroid (still needs some work)

GCX 5.3a changes:
- Added Z95 Hammerhead to Hoth in place of Xwing
- Added Tie Defender to Tanaab (spawns in space above StarDestroyer)
- Added ATPT behind Imperial Base on Dantooine
- Added AI to many GC maps
- All GC maps with AI now have the rebel map icon.
- Added many maps to single player campaign
- Many infantry maps replace engineer kit with Heavy weapon kit.

Note - ingame map music not added yet. Also destructable IonCannon and Shield generator not added yet to Hoth. Many vehicle changes in GC .53 not added to GCX yet.

GCX .5c
- Fix for ATAT CTD bug - Removes passenger positions. Adds spawn point next to ATAT.
- Converts GC_Tanaab to a dogfighting map. Ties launch from Deathstar and Rebels spawn in space.

GCX .5b
- Supports GC .5
- Greatly improved Tanks & Arty for bot use.
- Speederbike modified for bot use.
- Conversion for most BF1942 maps, including Battle of Britain.
- Most BF1942 maps will require a fast system, as the AI settings are maxed out.
- Added Campign list with several single player GC maps.

^^^ I'm still gonna answer. If you play GCX, on the Deathstar map, the Emipre can't spawn anywhere. And the Rebel AI doesn't do anything but stand and turn around. And around. And around.....

I Installed the Galactic mod, and thought it was pretty cool then the patch came out. I installed that, Had fun playing it, Then GCX came out and was playing that one with the BF maps. then My Computer Crashed !! I couldn't figure out what was going on. I Formated my puter then reinstalled BF1942 and the mods all was working fine untill I installed GCX again, went into the map played for about 10 minutes and it crashed again. The computer rebooted and it was fine all the programs worked fine untill I started BF1942. it wouldn't even load the map and crashed again. I followed the patch for GCX and got into properties for that file and it was currupt. and injuring the other files in BF. So I Deleted that file not just the mod but the file in reg. and now I can play BF1942 again. And the GC mod. I almost took it too a puter tech, because I couldn't figure out what was wrong, and almost bought another video card because I thought the 3D card was bad..
So It is a cool mod GCX But just letting you know that it Crashes my computer !!!!

I forgot to add, I was reading and the requirements are a high end machine,
I have a P-4 / with 1gig of mem / 256 video card / 2.8 gig processor. how high do you mean ?

The midway map crashes to me.
And on death star the rebels didn't spawn.

VERY BAD Work. The bots in all the maps, with exception of some (2 or 3), grasp in some points. In the majority of the maps the bots is there for decorating (they appear, but they are not moved and they are motionless in the central base, only 2 or 3 bots leave walking). In 4 maps, more or less, simply it does not have battle (all the bots are motionless in the central base), is practically played alone, without enemy some. I was furious when perceiving that bots runs aground in mountains, they try to cross ways where it has obstacles (and they grasp), and do not obtain to jump flat slopes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GCX FOR NOBODY.

Please, if somebody to know of some package (software) OF GOOD QUALITY, that provides support the bots (SP/COOP) for Galactic Conquest (Bf1942), orders an email for me (yurifreis@hotmail.com). GRATEFUL.

ps: as Homeisschool had observed above: still the following one occurs: he is not possivel to play with the empire on the Deathstar map. "I'm still gonna to answer. If you play GCX, on the Deathstar map, the Emipre can't spawn anywhere. And the Rebel AI doesn't of anything but stand and turn around. And around. And around.....". "Can Empire spawn on Deathstar now".

I tnink that this version of the GCX DID NOT PASS FOR NO REVISION. INCOMPLETE, VERY BAD WORK! Little care when programming the bots.

yeah...i think there should be a clone wars option.. and the bots should be more detailed..and look less skinny..make em wider..like a real person..also put more detail into clothes.. rebels look like there wearing tights
