Right below the Australia download mirror it says in bold letters, "UPDATED EVERY 6 HOURS! The very latest files may give a 404 file not found!".
Yes, I know... but, is there a way to download it... Whats the point of having a Aussie download server that never works.
It will work, but you just need to wait a couple hours. You can also just download it from the other mirror.

Hmm im having perfect download speeds but then again i have a fast pass..
ok well i installed it double clicked the icon and...NO GO! something wrong with the shaders or something i tried re-installing the update patch for 2142, still no go. re-installed the mod nope. i went through the game into custom games and it worked, tried to play the one single player level because there were no servers, and crash to desk top. I don't know i checked the installation path its all good. could really use some help right about now hopefully when i wake up tomorrow someone would have responded to this, oh and my b-day is mannana (20th) so the assistance could be my present. Yep thats it, but other wise the menu options screen looks good, would really like to see the rest of the game though.

Guys, overnight, the file was downloaded over 3000 times...it's inevitably gonna get a bit slow with numbers like that, no matter where it is hosted.
For those of you who are having the StaticMeshes.fx error, until we can find out what the exact problem is (as we have never experienced it until today), you can visit this link and try this solution.

It looks a little impressive. I haven't followed the at all to say the least. Although I wish everyone luck and happy gaming with it.
First of all, YAY! (again)
But once I did a fresh install of BF2142, updated to 1.25, restarted, installed FS, restarted, started FS....things went wrong.
*At the login screen it says there is a new patch available.
*SP doesn't work, we all know that, but i click multiplayer and NO servers show up.
*When I create a local server I join the game only to find that there is no cursor....and it is impossible to click anything other than the Kit selection..
Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Sorry for anooother post....but I did a complete reinstallation, and now once I click my soldier on login, the game CTD. I looked on the FS forums and the only suggestions were to reinstall, but even after ANOTHER install (3rd time today) of BF2142 + patch + FS, it still doesn't work... Oh well, i'll just go play sandbox 0.5 now for the good old working BF2....

i tried the fix . but it didnt work for me i did it twice and still nothing. anybody else have any luck??
the mod installed with out a hitch for me and worked perfectly. These guys get an A+ for originality. They have a great idea but if you are use to playing battlefield2 or 2142 then you might be dissapointed in the grafics. some of the grafics look like something that was made 5 or 8 years ago. The main thing i noticed was that there are no sounds of people talking. like when you spot an enemy soldier or request something etc. the weapons sounds dint seem to have any bass to them eitheir. iv been playng a lot of battlefield 2 project reality lately so maybe im just use the the awsome grafics there. The one thing that would make me NOT play this MOD is the fact that when you shoot a gun, the shots are so far off that when i tried to hit a guy about 50 feet away, i aimed dead on him and not one of my shots came within 1 foot of him. i used all my ammo from beginning to end trying to hit him. There was also a real lack of weapons. This mod is nice to play if you are totally bored with vanilla.
for those having trouble downloading from filefront...I used the torrent download option on the First Strike website. I got the file in 20 minuts

Right click First Strike Mod Shortcut
Remove these characters from Start in box: ModsFirst Strike
so it ends with: Battlefield 2142"
i cant play because it can't find the battlefield2142.exe. i tried putting it so it went to the battlefield 2142 game but it only went to the game no first strike mod. any help please!!

Download Modjive and use that to create the shortcut. You can create it by right clicking on the game and slecting "Create Desktop Shortcut".

what damned patch do you need to play fs? the last 1.25 patch or those stupid 1.40 beta pacthes? Its realy damned confusing if ea release betapatches, who the hell should know if they are needed

well, i downloaded modjive but first strike didnt appear anywhere. there isnt even a way to start the game form the folder. thats whats confusing me.
i get everytime disconnect when i join a server.... like if i have the wrong patch but i run 1.25 what else can cause disconnects all the time HELP!!! 
#56 Chewbaca45. I suggest you do the most common solution and reinstall (by that i mean uninstall then install, not repair), restart, and try again. If not, then reinstall your BF2142, update the patch and install the FS Mod.
#57 At least you can find servers My bf2142 FS shows no servers ever, no matter what i do. Can you connect to a server on vanilla BF2142? If so then try reinstalling the game/patch/mod It took me from 12.30pm - 5.00pm to actually get the mod working...but i have to play it all by myself No SP or detectable servers (o.O)

Got everything installed correctly, started Fs all god and proper, started single player, shaders, map, deployment all loaded up, press ''DEPLOY'', CRASH TO DESKTOP! what the hell? got myself all ready for this much awaited game and then had that moment of glory snatched away so harshly! Please fix! took me 4 hours to download and now very P1553D off!
the downlode speeds gone up mines costing at a good 125kb/s (after i restarted my comp and closed down the other programes running) eney way why is the game acting up (this isent a beta but a full relesse wuts the prob?) any way we need a patch soon (acording to coments cus im still downloding)

Anyone know how to fix the laggish problem? I know it's not lag (I had a ping of 60 on the server I was on), and my framerate was decent (I have an aging rig...)
I played for a half hour and didn't get a single kill. It was horrible. Everything else was great though. Is that what you guys are referring to about the shader problem?
Kwok, I had the same problem. I was going to try it out on bots first so I could get used to it, but it CTD'ed when I clicked Deploy, so I just went online .
Chav, have you tried clicking the advanced tab and unchecking the "ranked" filter? That's how I got mine working.

if you cant seem to find any games and your bf2142 is up to date go to filters and uncheck all of them EXCEPT "same mod".
from what i understand and have read the lag problem is within the mod itself. I too was on a server with a low ping and it still lagged, and i have a very up to date system with a good internet connection. Im sure the First Strike team is going to fix the lag and other problems as well.
one this I noticed in the players hands(on the rebels side), they look fat! lol
other than that I love this mod, it sure beats the hell out of 2142 and have full confidence in the First Strike team infix the problems. AWESOME MOD
to #60 singleplayer is not supported only multiplayer

we are aware of the problems with server lag, CTD's , installer issues etc and are working on makin a patch.
We think we have found the problems and all should be ok as far as killer bugs go. We're doin littl general optimizing aswel and tweakin a couple of things. It MAY be out by the end of Sunday ..possibly sooner.

Oh and singleplayer is not yet featured. Its in the works and you can actually find a very early alpha version of it up .
Singleplayer is a slow process since we dont have a debugger , therefore having to strip the mod right down and putting it back together for it.
We have both Imperial and rebel manuals up on our site now ,so you can get familiar with those items your not sure about.

I got it all working Thanks for everyone's help. I love this mod now...the space wars are AMAZZING but I am not too fond of the infantry, as the guns feel...akward...hard to describe, but good sounds
I have a decent pc but a crappy wireless adapter, but I only get occasional connection lags that last for a few seconds, very rare though. I'd say the lag people are saying about depends on how many players are on the map, or the server connection, I may be wrong though...who knows.
need more servers!!!!!!!! and no i cant make my own. it would just suck royaly

Is it programmed that u cant pic up ur MG when u play as officer? if yes then i have one thing at the mod what i dont like .

Some more thoughts: While this is not the smoothest mod ~ keep in mind this is a total conversion mod , and there's very little kept from vanilla 2142 , DEVS are aware of the pesky Endor map crash and intend to patch that possibly as early as tommorow. Custom voice chats are enabled by resetting the ENGLISH voice only option to checkmarked off . 5 Maps exist , 3 space , 2 infantry and both maps for infantry have major problems . I was moving around like i was on dial-up on Mos Espa , VISTA support is dubious at this time . In space maps jack up your mouse sensitivty setting to max for best results and use cockpit view or no hud only . In medium frigates use any open gunner positions if you dont have teammates with you to get the fighters that are out of range. They did some nice work and this mod will keep 2142 interesting until CRYSIS is released.
FS has 3 land maps and 2 space maps.
Espa, Entha, Endor for ground.
Hoth and What ever the name of the fleet battle one is for space.

I've finally got to play FS online, land battles a little iffy but still great! Fat fingers rule! but the space battles I don't get! When I sit inside the ships, I can't see my cockpit! Just black, black and more black! I see the lasers flying past, but I didn't even see the star destroyer I flew into!

Go to your video settings and make sure the View Distance is at 100%, I am pretty sure that is the solution to your problem.

OMG , LISTEN! There is no SINGLE PLAYER function for this MOD DO YOU UNDERSTAND???? I don't know how many times this has to be said. Next off , LEEPO if you go into the server settings and take off any filters you set up , like SAME MOD only, The FS mod servers will show up.
Also go into Advaned Search, normal does not show any modded servers.

Is it possible to copy your BF2142 folder then patch one of them with the First Strike mod to alternate vanilla and modded BF2142?
Don't forget that Version 1.1 is out. It fixes most of the CTD issues, but it doesn't add singleplayer. Please, why do people always complain, "Singleplayer won't work!" One last time, there is no single player.
If you want to find the servers:
1. Select Multiplayer
2. Go to Advanced Search
3. Turn off all filters except "Same Mod" Make sure that "Ranked (or Tournament or Restricted) is turned off
4. Select a server
5. Have fun.
6. Stop complaining about singleplayer
looks like a pretty sweet mod, ill rate it when i played it a bit.
# 51 and 52 try going into normal 2142 and click on community then custom games.
This mod is sooooo cool. Can't wait for v1.2.
