Description:
This is the executable installer (Part 1 of 3) for the highly anticipated new version of the mod BattleGroup 42. New features include several new maps, including a naval battle. This exciting new mod also brings us some new weapons and a healthy supply of new vehicles. As you all probably know, BattleGroup takes place during World War 2, and covers all theaters of that war. It is known by many to be one of the best, as well as most extensive and comprehensive, mods for Battlefield 1942.

NOTE: This mod needs all three parts of the installer, installed in the correct order to work correctly. The correct order is, of course, part 1, then part 2, followed by part 3.

NOTE: Delete/uninstall all previous versions of this mod before installing this one.

BG42: THE HISTORICAL ACCURACY AND TEAMPLAY MOD FOR BF1942
=========================================================

Hardware Requirements/Performance Tips:


- We strongly recommend at least 1024MB RAM and a video card with at least 128MB RAM and a CPU with at least 2 GHz

- Do not try to play online with a connection speed lower than DSL/Cable.

- Close ALL unneeded background applications which are using bandwith and/or memory, like file-sharing programs,
file managers, e-mail programs, browsers etc. Make as much RAM available as possible.

- Check your ingame graphics and sound settings. Reduce the sound quality and screen resolution if necessary.

- defrag your complete hard disk at least once a month

- Battlegroup42 1.4 and following builds only run with 44kHz setting, 11 and 22 kHz are no longer supported, mainly
for reasons of mod size and the fact that even "cheap" onboard sound chips can handle 44kHz without problems.

PLANES

- fixed the Ju 52 rudders and flaps

- made the FW 190 slightly less maneuverable and decreased its speed

- decreased the Bf 110´s speed and maneuverability / fixed some physics settings

- fixed the Horsa Glider

- fixed the MatID 408 projectiles (damage against MatID 52 was way too high)

- equalized the deviation for BAR, Bren, DP, Johnson LMG, FG42, SG44 and Type99

- removed the networkable info from Gammon, Molotov, RPG43 and Type 3 Heat
(they didn´t work right WITH networkable info, must be engine related !)


VEHICLES/STATIC GUNS

- fixed the APC position on LCTs

- decreased the Puma´s gun damage

- increased the ammo amount for the IS-2 to 18 rounds

- reduced the WaterDamageDelay from 30 to 15 seconds

- decreased the APCs hitpoints to 100

- increased the Defgun´s hitpoints to 150

- increased the Ilyushin hitpoints to 300

- increased hitpoints of four-engined bombers to 500

- increased hitpoints of two-engined bombers to 400

- fixed the Bofors projectile position

- recoded the SU-152 to HeavyTank instead of Artillery (increased muzzle velocity, removed artillery cam, changed AI)

- adjusted the Tiger and King Tiger engine soundscripts

- fixed the missing icon for the M2A1 Howitzer Battery

- fixed the missing icon for the Lexington Carrier

- changed the british coax and Lewis sound

- fixed the ammo icons on Yamato and POW

im sure parts 1 and 2 are incredible, but part 3 is a bit necessary to fully enjoy this mod...

this mod doesn't seem to want to install for me. i just reinstalled bf1942, ran the 1.6 patch update, then ran the 1.61b update, added the match mappack and then tried to install part one of bg42 and it says it won't be installed because aimeshes.rfa contains invalid data. i don't get this. its a fresh install with all the required updates and no messin' around on my part. any ideas?
