Battlefield 2: Australian Forces (0.25) - File Description

Description:
Battlefield 2: Australian Forces is a singleplayer and multiplayer modification for the team-based modern warfare game Battlefield 2. The aim of the Australian Forces modification is to replace the United States forces with Australian forces; including new player, weapon and vehicles skins, HUD changes, and new weapons and vehicles in future releases.

This is the mod many Australian players have been waiting for – the chance to take on the world as highly-respected Australian Forces!

Version 0.25 makes the mod 100% compatible with the new patch. We are hard at work on version 0.3 with new weapons and vehicles, but the unexpected release of the 1.12 patch has meant we have had to release a patch to make sure people can still play 0.2 while they wait for the new release.

An offical Australian Forces news and chat thread can be found on the Internode Games Network forums: http://games.internode.on.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=66

===================
* Notes *

Single Player: Australian Forces is 100% compatible with single player.

Multiplayer: This mod cannot be used on ranked servers at this stage, it is a standalone mod.
There have been no changes to guns, damage, or any code changes which would in
theory impact on using this mod with a ranked server, but given that such servers
must adhere to strict EA rules, no modifications can be made. Plus, you would be
kicked for using modified files.

What does this mean? Well you are going to have to make your own server, play it
at a LAN, play single player, or find a reliable ISP to host a server. Sorry, but
that's the downside of ranked servers.

===================
* Updates/Changes *

Version 0.25 Patch
---------------------------------
- Fix: Issue where cursors would not appear in menu on some machines
- Fix: Weapon/class menus and HUD altered due to 1.12 patch
- Fix: Loading screens altered due to 1.12 patch

Version v 0.2
---------------------------------
- English localisation files updated to reflect 1.03 changes
- Levels are now inherited from BF2
- Map loading screens changed
- Added Bot Config program "BotConfig.exe" written by pogmohoin
- Support for dedicated server
- New animated busy cursor
- Shortcut icon added

Version v 0.1
---------------------------------
- Australian player skins
- Australian flag skin
- Anthem changes
- Hud changes
- Various menu changes
- Blood added
- Default SP bots set to 24, skill 0.8

========================
* Known Issues *

Will not work properly for users running non-english version of BF2.

=====================
* Play Information *

Game : Battlefield 2
Type : Singleplayer/Multiplayer
Supported Modes : ALL
Requires : Battlefield 2 1.12 Patch

=====================
* Installation *

1. Check that you have a clean copy of 0.2 installed.

2. Unzip (extract) the file ""bf2aus_025.zip"" to your Battlefield 2 mod
directory, with directory structure intact. It is important that you keep the
directory structure intact; otherwise the mod will not work.
In WinZip, make sure the box "Use folder names" is ticked. Similar programs
should also have this feature.

On most machines your Battlefield 2 mod directory should be located at:
'C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\'.

This assumes that the game is install on C drive, if your game is installed on
another drive, such as D drive, then it would most likely be
'C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\'.

Overwrite any old files with the new ones.

3. This is all you need to do to install the mod. There are two methods to run the mod:

- Through Battlefield 2, by going to the Community tab, then into Custom Games.
- By running the shortcut "Australian Forces v0.2.bat" in the Weapon Tester mod folder.

Using the shortcut is much quicker and easier.

4. Have fun.

========================
* Troubleshooting *

Q: Can I play this on ranked servers?
A: No.

Q: There are too many/not enough bots in single player?
A: Run the BotConfig.exe program.

Q: The bots in single player are too skilled/unskilled?
A: Run the BotConfig.exe program.

Q: How do I run a Windows dedicated server?
A: Install Australian Forces as per the installation instructions, then go into the main directory
and run 'bf2_w32ded.exe' to configure your server with your own settings and map rotation. Start the
application, the stop it. Close the program and go into the bf2aus folder and run
'Australian Forces v0.2 Dedicated Server' to start the mod.
